El Capitan Combo Update

I installed El Capitan and since then my iMac won't start up - it hangs at the grey screen with Apple logo and loading bar. I have literally tried and researched everything;

Unplugged the computer and waited

Unplugged and held in the power button

Tried to start up in Safe mode - it won't

Not unless you either reinstall from an earlier version of OS X El Capitan and then use the 10.11.3 combo update, or have a Time Machine backup from 10.11.3. For most users, OS X 10.11.5 should be fine, and most Mac users didn’t have problems with OS X 10.11.4 either. Tried the startup manager (Option key at startup)

Tried OS X Recovery mode (Cmd + R at start up)

Tried Cmd, option, P and R

Removed my extra ram and replaced it...


I know there is nothing wrong with my hardware as I did run the First Aid test and no errors were found - discs work perfectly. My thought is that it should be the OS that causes this as I had no errors beforehand.

I have read here that if I install the combo update, this might solve my issue. My question is: when will it be released?

I have made an appointment at my local Apple store but before then I want to try and solve this myself (I only have backups of my most important files, so if I can avoid erasing my disc, this would be awesome).
